Centurion Wolf offers a varied balanced and exciting program, which provides fun, excitement, challenge and achievement as well as every opportunity to progress through both the scout and Duke of Edinburgh’s award schemes.
We meet every Friday night, not only is this is a great way to start the weekend but it also allows some activities to go late into, or even right through, the night such as sleepover’s , night hikes or lightweight camps with no school or college the next day to worry about .
In 2012 CWESU will be the first explorer unit in Wiltshire to take part in the famous Ten Tors challenge on Dartmoor, Devon. (Something for the serious walker) the rest of us will settle for a more comfortable pace, but to the team well done with the training so far and all the best in the event.
Some of our activities: climbing, Ice skating, one week summer camp, winter and summer lightweight camping on Dartmoor, mountain biking, hiking, making their own horror film, letterboxing, canoeing, survival camps, archery, rifle shooting, caving and anything else suitable that the explorers want to try!
We have also tried cooking food from around the world and run a restaurant for friends and family, and take part in various ways in the Gangshow at the Wyvern Theatre.
The explorers, who plan their own program would not let us miss out some of the national events attended such as Malvern Challenge/Sun Run and Gilwell 24
